Hi there! My name is Destiny, I'm 22, and I'm very interested in this position! I bring 9 years of childcare experience with a wide range of personalities, preferences, and care needs. Over the years, I've worked with several organizations that serve children with special needs, have nannied for many families in my community, and raised my now 13-year-old sister for most of her life. I have nannied for several families with children ages 2 months-middle school, however, I have extensive work with infants and toddlers! One family I worked with had two children who I started with at 3 months and a little over 1 who I worked with until they were 1.5 and 2.5! Before that, I nannied for a baby from 2 months through 1 as well, which both have been such rewarding experiences! In addition to my nanny work, I also worked for the Department of Children, Youth, and Families in Child Protective Services and Child Welfare Services. In that role, I supported children in foster and relative care, collaborated with parents to overcome barriers, and helped ensure that children's emotional, social, and physical needs were being met. This gave me an even deeper insight into child development, resilience, and the importance of creating safe, nurturing environments. It also heavily strengthened my skills in communication, safety, and supporting children's growth in a compassionate way! Alongside this hands-on work, I graduated with my bachelor's degree in psychology in 2023 and am currently pursuing my master's in clinical mental health counseling online. My academic background gives me a strong foundation in child development and mental health, which has been very helpful in my caregiving. Though my CPR and First Aid certifications have expired, I have been trained in each previously, and I keep myself refreshed with the Red Cross first aid app. I'm fully vaccinated, including the COVID booster and flu shot, and I'm always happy to help out around the house to take some of the load off your family. I truly love working with kids, I can't wait to be a mom one day, though I'm not quite there yet, so for now I pour that energy into the families I work with!!
