About Sophie

Hi! My name is Sophie, and I’m a current graduate student at James Madison University pursuing my Master’s in Psychological Sciences with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). I just moved from Cincinnati, OH to Harrisonburg, VA, so I am new to the area! I recently graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. I have several years of experience working with children of a variety of ages and abilities in home, school, childcare, and clinical settings. I am a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and have over two and a half years of experience providing one-on-one support to children and adolescents with autism and other developmental disabilities. I also have extensive classroom experience through my education degree, including a full year of student teaching, as well as experience working in an infant childcare center and tutoring elementary-aged children. I especially enjoy creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I’m happy to help with playtime, crafts and activities, homework, meals, bedtime routines, and other everyday needs. My background in education and behavior analysis has also given me experience supporting children with communication, behavioral, developmental, and learning needs. I’m responsible, patient, dependable, and genuinely love working with children.
