About Emily Joy
Hi! My name is Emily J, and I’m a college student in Nashville studying commercial music with a focus in songwriting. I’m responsible, creative, and great with kids of all ages! I have experience working with children in both professional and volunteer settings, including music therapy sessions where I help support social, emotional, and developmental needs through fun, engaging activities. I love creating a safe and fun environment, whether we’re doing crafts, playing games, or singing songs together. I’m CPR-certified and have flexible availability. I’d love to get to know your family and help however I can!

Off-Campus Involvement
As a Commercial Music major with a focus on songwriting, I’m passionate about using music to connect, communicate, and create meaningful experiences both on and off campus. I’ve been actively involved in several writers rounds as well as gigging at local music spots around Nashville such as Live Oak and the 1865 club, and I continue to write and perform original music. Beyond music, I value service and community, participating in outreach events and collaborating with local organizations to support creative and inclusive spaces. I believe in leading with authenticity and building relationships that inspire growth and artistic exploration.
On-Campus Activity
I’m a Commercial Music major with a songwriting emphasis, passionate about creativity, collaboration, and building community through music. On campus, I’m involved in multiple choirs such as our all female Bel Canto choir and our gospel/r&b group Voxology; I’m also involved in Greek Life on campus where I enjoy mentoring younger members and participating in sisterhood and service events. I’ve also been active in performance showcases, music projects, and academic leadership opportunities within my major. My goal is to create authentic connections through music and student involvement, and to encourage others to grow in confidence and creativity.
