About Mya

Hi! I’ve been caring for children for over 8 years. I started babysitting when I was young and continued consistently for multiple years before becoming a professional nanny. I’ve been nannying for the past 4 years, with regular experience caring for infants, toddlers, and early school age but I have babysitting experience up to 15 years old. I am comfortable working with children with special needs and currently have experience supporting kids with Type 1 diabetes, autism, and ADHD. My approach is grounded in a positive discipline and Montessori-inspired philosophy. I deeply value honoring children’s emotions, promoting independence, and encouraging learning through play in creative and meaningful ways. I love making everyday moments fun and educational with activities that nurture curiosity and development. I enjoy planning activities tailored to each child or children I am with from sensory play and story time to exploring nature trails and building intricate lego projects all afternoon. Along with childcare, I love making parents lives easier and help keep things running smoothly around the home with meal prep, tidying, organizing play spaces, loading the dishwasher, and cleaning main areas. Outside of childcare I love baking, reading, and creating art, which are all things I love bring into my time with children whenever I can.
