About Tarin

Hi there! My name is Tarin, and I recently completed a year of Au Pairing in the Netherlands! I originally went to college for Urban Planning, but after a few years of working in architecture I realized I was not feeling fulfilled. Upon reflection, I realized that I was at my best when I was mentoring, tutoring, or volunteering. I had primarily worked with middle schoolers, but as an au pair I gained a great deal of experience with children as young as 2. I au paired primarily for a family with one 4 yo boy, who quickly became my best buddy. Despite language barriers early on, I successfully weaned the child off of iPad usage and taught him English. We went on a lot of day trips and adventures, and I frequently hosted play dates for multiple of his friends. I also took care of light housekeeping, and cooked every dinner. I found all of this work very rewarding and enjoyed a close relationship with my au pair host parents. We worked together to raise the child and I felt happiest as a valued member of the household. I’m hoping to help out another family, and get to know some new kiddos!
