About Shannon

Hi, I'm Shannon! I love working with kids, and have many years of childcare experience. Most recently, I have been nannying a five-month-old infant in Sleepy Hollow, doing lots of storytime and outdoor play. I am currently in grad school part-time at SUNY New Paltz to become a child therapist, and have extensive and varied experiences working with kids aged 1-16, at New Paltz Youth Center, All About Me Early Learning Center in Cresskill, NJ, and Tenafly Nature Center’s nature-based summer camp, in addition to various babysitting, tutoring, and volunteering experiences. I am very interested in working with families on a part-time basis to provide fun, engaging experiences for kids, from infants up to teens. When working with kids, I take into account their strengths, personal interests, and stage of development, and like to build a strong relationship where each child feels respected and supported in various areas of their life. I love integrating each child's unique creativity and understanding of the world into how I work with them on their homework, art projects, and play time. I am also a huge pet lover (I have a cat named Evie), and am available if any pet care is needed.
