About Areej

Hi!! I'm Areej :) I live on the UWS (Lincoln square) and attend Fordham Lincoln center!! I am very familiar with the transit system as I grew up in nyc. I grew up with two younger sisters which gave me years of hands-on childcare experience, and I also tutored younger children in English and art. In high school, I worked as an assistant in the Ella Baker Makerspace, an after-school creative learning space for children ages 3-13. I helped younger children with arts and crafts, reading, imaginative play, and hands-on activities that encouraged creativity and confidence. With older kids, I helped them explore interests like photography, technology, science, performing arts, and other creative projects while creating a safe, inclusive environment!! I'm pursuing a degree in Film and TV and have also completed pre-health coursework, giving me a creative and well-rounded educational background. I'm familiar with children's books, tv shows, movies, and music, and I've researched how children's media influences development to help choose engaging, age-appropriate activities. I also know a lot of museums and parks, I’m very active and love playing games, baking sweets and reading.
