About Amaya

Hi! My name is Amaya, and I’m so excited to connect with families looking for a babysitter or nanny! I have been babysitting for over 10 years, and working with children has always been something I genuinely love. Before moving to Charlotte, I also spent about three years working at a preschool, where I had the opportunity to work with children every day and really get to know their different personalities, interests, and needs. I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Human Development and Family Science, and I’m currently in graduate school studying Speech-Language Pathology. My education and experience have given me a strong understanding of child development, but more importantly, my years of working with children have taught me how important it is to meet each child where they are and make them feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. One of my favorite parts of babysitting is the quality time I get to spend with the kids. I love getting to know what makes each child excited, whether that means playing outside, doing crafts, reading books, playing games, going on little adventures, or simply hanging out and talking. I want the time I spend with a family to feel fun and positive for the kids, while also making things easier and more comfortable for the parents. I’m someone who is dependable, patient, responsible, and genuinely enjoys being around children. I’m happy to help with everything from playtime and meals to bedtime routines, school pick-ups, and keeping little ones entertained. I also love getting to build relationships with the families I work with and becoming someone they feel comfortable and confident leaving their children with!
