About Zion

Hi! My name is Zion, and I have years of experience working with children in educational, outdoor, and mentorship-based environments. I’m patient, energetic, dependable, and love creating safe spaces where kids can learn, explore, and have fun. My longest experience working with children has been at Boys Hope Girls Hope, where I worked closely with students in a residential and academic setting, helping support their daily routines, emotional growth, and overall well-being. That experience strengthened my ability to connect with kids of different ages and personalities while remaining calm, attentive, and responsible. I’ve also worked as a camp counselor with the YMCA, where I supervised groups of children, led activities, helped with conflict resolution, and made sure campers stayed engaged and safe throughout the day. In addition, I worked with Freedom Schools, supporting children through literacy-focused programming, mentorship, and enrichment activities designed to build confidence and encourage creativity. One of my favorite experiences was serving as an engagement intern at Rocky Mountain National Park, where I helped teach children about nature through hands-on activities like birding, fishing, outdoor exploration, and environmental education. I love encouraging curiosity and helping kids build confidence while trying new things outdoors. I enjoy being active, creative, and supportive, and I always strive to make children feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning fun activities, spending time outside, or simply being a dependable presence, I truly enjoy working with kids and families.
