About Jayla

My name is Jayla, and I am a dedicated and compassionate student at Clark Atlanta University studying Education. Throughout my life, I have developed strong leadership, communication, and caregiving skills through school, work, and family responsibilities. As the oldest of seven siblings, I naturally took on a caregiving role at a young age. Helping care for my younger siblings gave me hands-on experience with supervising children, helping with routines, keeping them engaged, and creating a positive and supportive environment. These experiences taught me patience, responsibility, adaptability, and how to connect with children of different ages and personalities. In addition to family experience, I have also worked as a camp counselor, where I supervised groups of children, organized activities, encouraged participation, and helped create a safe and fun environment. This role strengthened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while allowing me to build meaningful relationships with children. I enjoy working with children because I value helping them grow, build confidence, and feel supported. My background in customer service and leadership has also helped me become organized, dependable, and comfortable working in fast-paced environments. Overall, my experience as both the oldest of seven and a camp counselor has given me a strong foundation in childcare and mentorship. I take pride in creating positive experiences and being someone children and families can trust and rely on.
