About Maniya

Hi! My name is Maniya, I’m 20 years old, and I’m someone who truly enjoys being around kids and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment for them. I come from a big family with 11 siblings, and as the oldest, you can only imagine the chaos lol — so caring for children has honestly always been second nature to me! I have experience working with children through the Gainesville After School Program, where I worked with kids from kindergarten through 8th grade. I currently also work for the Alachua County School Board as a Paraprofessional, which has helped me grow even more in patience, communication, and understanding children with different personalities and needs. From helping with homework and activities to keeping kids entertained and engaged, I’ve learned how to build strong connections with children while still being responsible, dependable, and attentive. I’m the type of sitter who loves movie nights, arts & crafts, games, outdoor fun, and making everyday moments exciting while still keeping structure and safety first. Parents would describe me as caring, trustworthy, nurturing, and easy to communicate with. I know how important it is for parents to feel comfortable leaving their children in someone else’s care, and I always do my best to create an environment where kids feel happy, supported, and cared for. I’m also CPR certified and First Aid trained for extra peace of mind. Outside of babysitting, I’m currently in college pursuing degrees in Social Work and Psychology because helping and caring for others has always been something I’m passionate about. I’m very nurturing by nature, organized, and great at staying calm under pressure. Whether your little one needs a fun bestie for the day, help with homework, or someone dependable to stick to routines and bedtime schedules, I’m happy to help!
