About Sylvia

Hi! I'm Sylvia, a full-time online college student, and caring for children has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My family ran a daycare while I was growing up, which I attended as a child and helped out with as an adult! I started babysitting for families in my neighborhood when I was 13. For the past year, I've worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), helping children with autism ages 2 to 14 learn and grow. That work taught me patience, how to create structure and routines, and how to adapt to each child's needs and communication style. I also have experience providing direct care for adults with psychiatric and developmental needs. Childcare is also a big part of my family life. From 2022 to 2024, I watched my younger cousin every Thursday since he was 1. Now that I've moved back home, I spend Thursdays watching him, his 3-year-old brother, and my nephew, who just turned 1. Caring for three little ones at once keeps me on my toes, and I love every minute of it! Because I take my classes online, my schedule is flexible, so I can work around your family's needs. I'm CPR certified for adults, children, and infants. What I love most about working with kids is getting to know each one's unique, developing personality and being part of watching them grow.
