About Annika

Hello! My name is Annika, and I’m a nurturing, experienced caregiver with a lifelong passion for supporting children and families. With over a decade of hands-on experience in education and child development, I am a calm, joyful, and reliable caretaker. I spent the last five years as an elementary school teacher—four years in 1st grade and one in 5th—after working as a behavioral aide for four years supporting children with diverse learning and emotional needs. I hold an AA in Social and Behavioral Science and Psychology, a BA in Sociology and Media Studies from UC Berkeley, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Sonoma State. I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Education, continuing to deepen my understanding of how kids learn, grow, and thrive. As a stepmom to a vibrant 1.5-year-old, I know the joys (and realities!) of early childhood firsthand. I absolutely adore working with children of all ages—playing, reading, exploring, helping with homework, or just being a steady, compassionate presence. I’m also First Aid and CPR certified, giving families peace of mind that their little ones are safe in my care. Beyond childcare, I’m happy to assist with light household duties, including meal prep and pet care. I believe in open communication, gentle guidance, and lots of patience and creativity.
