About Lakaija
I was raised by a single mother in the Midwest. Since my mother worked multiple jobs, I watched my baby brother since I was 5 years old, which created my passion for children. I babysat various children in my neighborhood and eventually became a preschool teacher. After 3 years of being a preschool teacher with children aged infant to 6 years old, I began working at group homes with children aged 2 years old to 18 years old. During my doctorate graduate program, for my practicum training, I worked with children with various mental health conditions aged 1 years old until 18 years old administering diagnostic testing. I have over 25 years of experience working with children from diverse backgrounds.
