About Claire

Hello, my name is Claire! I'm a Seattle native and the youngest of four. My older sister, Emily, has Down Syndrome and severe autism, and growing up I helped care for her. This involved bathing, dressing, feeding, giving medication, and supporting her daily needs. I currently work as an environmental consultant but am seeking a career change. I'm considering ABA, OT, or speech pathology and hope to gain experience with children beyond my sister. I understand both the challenges and joys of caregiving for a special needs child. I am reminded of moments of frustration like Emily refusing to get off the bus, but also moments of pure happiness, like her swinging on the play set for hours. I also know how important the right caregiver is. I am someone who will actively engage your child through outings, community interaction, and life-skill development. While new to nannying, I bring a lifetime of caregiving experience and look forward to supporting your family.
