About Meghan

Experienced, Reliable, and Compassionate Childcare Provider Hi! I’m Meghan, and I’m a PhD-trained maternal and child health and nutrition researcher and a Certified Lactation Counselor with over 15 years of childcare experience. I’m currently looking for part-time babysitting opportunities during evenings and weekends. In addition to my extensive childcare experience, I spent six years working as a research assistant in a pediatric research clinic, where I regularly interacted with children ranging from just two weeks old through 18 years old. This experience taught me how to communicate effectively with children at different developmental stages and remain calm, attentive, and reassuring in unfamiliar or stressful situations. I am comfortable caring for children with a wide range of needs and have experience coaching and comforting children through challenging or stressful experiences. My professional background in maternal and child health also allows me to bring some unique skills to childcare. My doctoral research focused on breastfeeding and human milk, and as a Certified Lactation Counselor, I have specialized knowledge that I can share with families when appropriate. I am also very comfortable caring for infants and supporting families as they navigate feeding routines. After many years in higher education, I’m also very comfortable helping with homework and schoolwork. Whether your child needs help staying on track with an assignment, practicing reading, or working through a challenging subject, I’m happy to provide support. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and strive to create a safe, engaging, and comfortable environment where they can have fun and feel supported. I’m responsible, patient, and comfortable handling both the everyday chaos of childcare and unexpected situations that may arise. I’d love the opportunity to get to know your family and see if I might be a good fit for your childcare needs!
