About Addison

Hi! My name is Addison O, and I am a 21-year-old college student with over five years of childcare experience. I was born and raised in Birmingham and currently attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I am majoring in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I have always been passionate about working with children. Currently, I serve as a Lead Teacher in a 2-year-old classroom at a Child Development Center, where I have worked for the past two years. This role has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, allowing me to help young children learn, grow, and develop confidence in a safe and nurturing environment. My long-term goal is to earn my master's degree in counseling and become a child counselor. I am currently looking to transition from full-time classroom teaching so I can dedicate more time to my studies. However, I still want to dedicate time to caring for children and learning from them. I strive to create environments where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to have fun while learning. Families can count on me to be responsible, patient, dependable, and engaging with children of all ages. I am very organized and clean, and it is something I enjoy doing. When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, baking, working out, and attending church.
