I have always loved being in the classroom and helping a child grow and learn hands-on. I am majoring in EarlyChildhood Development at Cuesta and have been for the past three years. I have always had a love for teaching growing up around my mom and grandmother being teachers, I saw the impact that they made on students and I would like to make that lifetime impact in my own career. Over the summer, I worked at a STEAM camp by KCSOS. For two summers, I worked with children aged 4 to 14 years old. It was my first real experience where I had to run groups of2-20 students on my own or with other mentors. I learned how to navigate various situations, including those that were time-sensitive. I often worked in the art section of the camp, executing lesson plans and creating an environment that encouraged children to express their creativity through the use of various objects and textures. I have completed a live scan, updated as of the date of this document, overseen by Community Care Licensing for KCSOS. I have a flexible schedule.
