I’ve been a babysitter, a nanny, a teacher, and a school administrator. I’m the mom of an inspiring teenager, who teaches me an innumerable amount of lessons about raising children. Working with children and in education has been a drive of mine since I was a kid myself. I started babysitting at 13, in the 90’s (can you believe we let 13 year olds do that back then?!). I taught elementary level at an afterschool and summer school program throughout undergraduate. I nannied for several families, including one family for five years. I left that job to start my own family, focusing more on freelance writing while I raised my child. I’ve continued to write while working as a preschool teacher, and then tutor recruitment and training coordinator for a DESE school.I also studied in the Critical and Creative Thinking graduate program at UMASS Boston for two semesters, to be continued. CCT focuses on learning and applying ideas and tools in critical thinking, creative thinking, and reflective practice. It applies very well to childcare and has helped me build valuable insight and skills.Additionally, I am an RYT200 yoga teacher, with 90 hours of youth yoga teacher training, and trauma-informed. So if the kids are interested in yoga, exercise, or meditation, I’m happy to share what I know! Even if the kids aren’t into yoga, this training gave mea better understanding of child development. I have a driver’s license, but do not own a car. However, I do own a Yuba cargo bike with room for two children and 4 grocery bags, with 18 years of bike commuter experience!
