Job Description
I am seeking a dependable, warm, and proactive summer nanny for our daughter. My ideal caregiver is someone who truly enjoys being engaged with kids—planning fun, age-appropriate activities, creating a safe and structured day, and modeling kindness and patience.
Primary responsibilities:
• Provide attentive, hands-on care in our home and out in the community
• Plan and lead outings and enrichment activities, such as the swim club, zoo, parks, library, children’s museum, playdates, splash pads, nature walks, etc.
• Prepare simple meals/snacks for our daughter, encourage good hydration, and support healthy routines
• Support learning through play (reading aloud, crafts, imaginative play, outdoor play, and simple educational activities)
• Maintain a consistent daily rhythm (activity time, meals/snacks, rest/quiet time as needed)
Screen/technology expectations:
• I prefer minimal to no screen time while nanny is on duty (no TV, tablets, or phone videos as entertainment).
• I’d someone who is comfortable redirecting to play, books, music, crafts, and outdoor time instead of electronics.
Values & faith preference:
• Our family values kindness, respect, gratitude, and strong character.
• I prefer a Christian nanny who is comfortable gently reinforcing Christian values and, in age-appropriate ways, helping teach our daughter about Jesus (for example: praying before meals, simple Bible stories, Christian songs, and discussing kindness/forgiveness/love in everyday moments). This is a preference, not an expectation of formal “lessons,” but we would love someone aligned with our faith and values.
Transportation & safety:
• Candidate must be comfortable driving our daughter to activities/outings (valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and comfort with proper car seat use).
• I prioritize safety: attentive supervision around water, at crowded venues, and during outdoor play. We’d like someone who communicates clearly, follows directions, and uses good judgment.
Light housekeeping related to childcare:
• Tidy up after meals and activities, wash/put away child dishes used during the day, keep play areas organized, help with child laundry if needed, and generally leave the home as you found it.
What I’m looking for:
• Energetic, patient, trustworthy, and communicative
• Enjoys being active and getting out of the house
• Comfortable setting loving boundaries and keeping a calm, positive tone
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
• Non-smoker
I’m excited to find someone who will feel like a supportive, steady presence for our daughter this summer and who will help make her days fun, active, safe, and meaningful.
