Seeking a fun and engaging nanny in Alexandria.

Role Overview
The nanny will be primarily responsible for attentive daytime care of our baby, supporting her feeding, sleep, and developmental needs while creating a safe, nurturing environment. This role requires someone who is comfortable with normal infant fussiness, understands that adjustment periods are developmentally typical, and can remain calm and reassuring during those moments.

Primary Responsibilities
* Provide attentive, responsive care for our infant
* Follow baby’s feeding schedule and cues (breast milk bottles provided and given using paced feeding techniques, prefer to nurse her if mother is working from home and available)
* Support naps using agreed-upon soothing approaches
* Diapering, dressing, and maintaining baby hygiene
* Engaging in age-appropriate developmental activities (reading, talking, play mat time, walks, etc.)
* Cleaning and sterilizing bottles and pump parts used during shift
* Keeping baby areas tidy and organized

Approach to Care
We are looking for someone who:
* Is warm, patient, and emotionally attuned
* Is comfortable working collaboratively with parents and communicating openly
* Respects our parenting preferences while bringing professional experience
* Can troubleshoot fussiness calmly and thoughtfully
* Understands infant development and transitions

Ideal Qualifications
* Prior experience caring for infants (3–12 months preferred)
* CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
* Up-to-date vaccinations
* Non-smoker
* Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
* Fluent in English
* Comfortable with a dog in the home

Nice-to-Have
* Background in early childhood development
* Experience working in homes where a parent is present
* Flexibility for occasional schedule adjustments with advance notice
