Hello! My name is Keyona and I bring a unique blend of professional teaching experience, nurturing care, and creative energy to every family I work with. Before transitioning into private childcare, I proudly served as an educator with Newport News Public Schools, where I gained deep insight into early childhood development, classroom management, and individualized learning strategies. What truly sets me apart is my Montessori-inspired curriculum, which I personally share with parents. It’s designed to engage children in hands-on learning, encouraging their natural curiosity through structured play, creative exploration, and age-appropriate challenges. Whether it's guiding a child through a science experiment or helping them create their first art masterpiece, I ensure every day is filled with meaningful growth. I also love to bake, and I often incorporate fun kitchen activities into our days — from cookie decorating to simple, child-safe recipes. My favorite subjects are art and science, and I use both to spark joy and imagination in the children I care for. Growing up as one of ten children, I naturally developed patience, adaptability, and a warm, easy-going personality. I mix well with all kinds of families and genuinely enjoy becoming a trusted part of a child’s world.
