About Mia

I have experience caring for children in both family and volunteer settings. As an older sibling, I regularly helped care for my younger siblings, including supervising them, helping with daily routines, and making sure they were safe and supported. I also assisted with childcare for my cousins’ children at my cousin’s home, where I helped supervise playtime, prepare simple activities, and maintain a calm and structured environment. In addition, I serve as a volunteer teacher at my church in my hometown, working with young children. In this role, I help lead lessons, engage kids in learning activities, and manage group behavior in a patient and positive way. This experience has strengthened my communication skills, responsibility, and ability to stay attentive to children’s needs in a group setting. I also worked as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), providing one-on-one support to children with autism and other developmental needs. In this role, I helped implement behavior plans, taught communication and daily living skills, encouraged positive behaviors, and built strong, trusting relationships with both the children and their families. This experience strengthened my patience, communication, problem-solving, and ability to remain calm in different situations, making me a confident and compassionate caregiver. Overall, my experience has helped me become comfortable caring for children of different ages and managing both structured and unstructured environments.
