About Amy
I’ve loved working with children and began sitting at the at of 12, also worked our church nursery. During college & into my adult years, I’ve cared for my nieces and family friends informally. During my professional career, in 2012, I volunteered with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), and for 7 years I worked with children in the foster system. My dedication took me all over the state of Texas with visitation. I eventually became a certified foster home and adopted at 17yo during the pandemic. She no longer lives with me, but I’m still active in the community of foster youth who’ve aged out (some with children of their own now). This remains a huge passion, and I’m personally active in conversation groups to merge professional skills with improvements to resources for families, kids and teens.
