About Wasila

Hi! My name is Wasila. I go by Wasi too. I just turned 25 years old and I’ve been babysitting and nannying professionally in the US for three and a half years and informally in Panama for almost ten years. I love children and I love to see them grow and develop as humans. I love to meet their individual personalities and go from there. Because in the end each child is another person who is growing and they need to be treated as such, with respect, kindness, healthy boundaries and all that’s in between. I love to nurture them and to be a part of their growth and lives. There's something special about a person who is growing, a child, somebody who is open to everything around them, filled with curiosity and life. I've always had a natural ease and incline with children, As a proud big sister to three younger siblings and a caring cousin to many little ones, I’ve always found joy in engaging but most importantly leaving children feeling seen and heard. During a time when my mom needed extra support, my older sister and I lovingly stepped in to care for our younger siblings, which deepened my commitment to childcare. Some of the things I enjoy doing the most with the kids I’ve worked with is reading stories, engaging in meaningful conversations, and incorporating interactive games that spark joy. I also enjoy introducing children to Spanish music and dance. Being a confidant too. I am open minded and I love to hear what the parents desire for their children and apply it to my own style so it can be adjusted to the family. I’d say the best families for me are the ones that are laid back enough that small things aren’t a huge problem but very communicative and transparent so I know what they like and don’t like so I can adjust, and stern enough so that there’s a respectful relationship between children and adults.
