About Kathryn

I’m a warm, patient, and dependable caregiver who genuinely loves working with kids! I’ve been caring for children since high school, when I regularly babysat for local families, and I continued babysitting periodically throughout college and graduate school. More recently, my clinical training and professional work in Clinical Psychology have involved working with children and families consistently, giving me extensive experience understanding children’s developmental, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. I believe kids need a balance of structure and plenty of opportunities for play, creativity, curiosity, and fun. I love getting down on the floor to play, doing crafts, reading, exploring outside, or creating activities around a child’s interests. I’m also happy to help with homework and routines and enjoy helping kids build confidence and independence. I’m naturally organized and especially good at creating systems that keep things running smoothly. I’m happy to help with children’s laundry, tidying and organizing toys and play spaces, dishes, meal prep, and other household tasks that make family life easier. I’m proactive, detail-oriented, and notice what needs to be done without always needing to be asked. My clinical experience has also taught me to be exceptionally patient, calm, and flexible. I understand that children’s behavior is communication and approach challenging moments with empathy, consistency, and age-appropriate boundaries.
