About Jahasia

Hi families! My name is Jahasia. I’d describe myself as a responsible, caring, and enthusiastic person. I am 20 years old and I am currently pursuing a degree in journalism at St. John’s University. I have experience working as a summer camp counselor with New York Edge for two summers in a row now. I primarily worked with children in third through fifth grade. When needed I also worked with children in first and second grade. In addition, my grandmother runs a daycare so I occasionally help her out, and I also babysit my younger cousins from time to time. My experience working with children has taught me how to keep children engaged, create fun and age- appropriate activities, and make sure everyone feels safe and included. Whether it’s playing games, doing crafts, helping with homework, or simply making sure they have a fun and comfortable day, I’m happy to help! I’d love the opportunity to get to know your family and provide your children with a safe, positive, and caring experience.
