About Icys

Hi! My name is Icys, and I’m a college student at Illinois State University. I’ve always loved working with children and have several years of experience with kids of different ages and needs. I have a 3-year-old little brother who I’ve helped care for throughout his life, so childcare has always been a big part of my everyday life. Professionally, I worked at a recreation center for about 3–4 years with children ages 3–13, primarily ages 3–5. I’ve also worked as a summer tutor with 4–5-year-olds and as a Behavioral Technician providing ABA therapy to children with autism. These experiences have taught me how to be patient, attentive, creative, and adaptable to each child’s individual personality and needs. I enjoy keeping kids engaged through play, learning activities, conversation, and simply making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m dependable, organized, and comfortable managing routines while still making the day fun. I understand that every family has its own expectations and parenting style, and I’m always willing to follow the routines and rules parents have in place. I’m looking forward to connecting with families in the Bloomington-Normal area and hopefully becoming someone both you and your children can feel comfortable and confident with!
