About Sydney

Hi! My name is Sydney, and I'm a reliable, patient, and nurturing sitter who loves supporting children and their families. This summer, I'm serving with Teach For America through AmeriCorps, where I've completed extensive training in preparation to teach as a Interrelated Special Education Teacher this fall. Through this training, I've gained experience supporting students in grades PreK–12 with individualized instruction, behavior support, and helping children meet their learning goals. I also had the opportunity to teach a 7th-grade mathematics class this June. In addition to my classroom experience, I've spent years caring for my younger brother after school and helping care for my 5-year-old autistic cousin who has high support needs. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for every child.
