About Maya

I grew up in a big, close-knit family, so looking after kids has always come naturally to me. I've babysat my younger cousins for years, both as a favor and as a paid sitter. I've handled everything from meals and bedtime routines to homework help and keeping everyone entertained on long afternoons. Watching several kids of different ages at once taught me to stay calm, organized, and patient, and to make sure each child feels heard. I'm currently a PhD candidate in Biomedical Science at UConn Health, and I've also worked as an instructional assistant and peer mentor, so I especially enjoy helping kids with schoolwork. Whether it's reading, math, or a science project, I like making learning fun and building their confidence along the way. I'm reliable, responsible, and have my own transportation. I'm available evenings and weekends in the West Hartford and Avon area. I'd love to help your family!
