About Makayla

Hi! My name is Makayla, and I have several years of hands-on childcare experience caring for children of family and friends. I’ve provided everything from daytime care to overnight babysitting, including preparing meals, feeding, bath time, bedtime routines, diaper changes, and creating a safe, fun environment where children feel comfortable and cared for. This summer, I completed an internship as an Assistant Director at a girls’ camp, where I helped supervise and support an average of 65 middle school girls each day. In this role, I planned activities, built positive relationships with campers, helped resolve conflicts, and worked closely with staff to ensure every child felt included, safe, and supported. It strengthened my leadership, communication, and ability to care for multiple children in a structured setting. I’m also excited to be expanding my experience this fall at Uconn, where I’ll begin training and working with infants ages 0–3 months. My background check and required clearances have already been completed and approved, giving families added peace of mind. I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely enjoy working with children of all ages.
