About Paola

I'm the eldest of three and began caring for children at a young age first starting with my two younger siblings. This in turn ignited in me a passion for child development that lead me to seek a degree in child education. I have worked with a diverse set of families for 10+ years and have experience working with children of all ages and needs including children with intellectual disabilities ranging from 5 to 17 years of age. My experience also includes being hired as a nanny for a single dad who worked in Prudhoe Bay, AK who worked a schedule of two weeks on and two weeks off. In this role I was responsible for being the sole guardian of his five children while he was away at work —their ages were 10 to 17 years old. Aside from that I accomplished encouraging his older daughter to attend the Alaska Military Youth Academy and served as her youth mentor for the duration the program and after her graduation. I have a 7-year-old that goes to The Montessori School and a 6-month-old daughter who stays at home with me. I'm a Montessori teacher and have worked at Anchorage Montessori School for 3 years prior to moving to TN. I was born in Colombia and moved to Alaska when I was 5-years-old. I'm fluent in English and Spanish. I have attended several Adult and Infant CPR/First Aid classes. I hold a CPR/First Aid certificate including a Food Handlers Card. I’m very outdoorsy when the outside temperature is favorable. I can’t live without nature and enjoy eating healthy.
