About Mariah

I have several years of paid and volunteer experience caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged children. As a teenager, I volunteered with young athletes through the Special Olympics and helped elementary students who were new to the United States develop their English-language skills. During college, I worked as a tutor and caregiver for elementary-aged students. I supervised daily activities, maintained a safe and positive environment, supported homework completion, and helped children develop skills through activities such as essay contests, math competitions, sewing, arts and crafts, and educational games. I also completed coursework in Child and Adolescent Development, including children and family life, infant care, child development, and safety practices. I later worked in a Montessori toddler classroom, where I received Montessori training and supported lessons in practical life, art, math, and language. My responsibilities included helping children strengthen fine-motor skills, vocabulary, early literacy, independence, and social-emotional development. In addition to my classroom experience, I have provided babysitting and nanny care for families from the schools where I worked. I have supported families during weekdays, weekends, special occasions, and short-term childcare needs. I am patient, attentive, organized, and committed to helping children feel safe, engaged, and cared for.
